Ok heres my problem, i just built my new system, An Athlon Classic 650 on an Asus K7M-RM (micro ATX)mobo, with a Hercules 3d Prophet DDR-DVI runing Win98 SE.
I popped Serious Sam into my DVD drive thinking "dude this is gonna kick some fookin arse!" instead it looks like im trying to play it on a 486, my framerates are horrible! and i cant aim worth anything, my laptop ( a 600mhz PIII with an ATI RAGEMobility 16mb) runs the game better! Please any sugestions would be apreciated!!

Thanks,
CrackRabbit

very odd..., try reinstalling drivers for the card... doe your monitor have an *.inf driver , install that too... dunno what else to try, but my P3 680 with an GF2 MX holds 50 fp average high everything at 1024 x 768

my monitor was deteced by windows just fine, its an NEC MultiSync XV15+, and the drivers i have installed are the latest ones downloaded from Hercules' website (ive checked them over they are nothing but reference drivers with Hercules slapped on them)
keep the sugestions comeing i want to be able to play Serious Sam!

Many times, problems like this are caused by not having the best AGP driver installed for the motherboard. Thgis is ESPECIALLY true for AMD based chipsets. Have you gone to AMD's website and installed the latest AGP miniport driver?

Here's the link

yes, i have installed the newest agp miniport from amd, it was one of the first things i did when i got my new computer up and running
i also tried several of the things that the geforce faq sugested with no luck 🙁

I did that too, no luck
i was checking asus' website seeing if i had missed any software patches or anything, and i thought about the bios, but after checking there are no bios updates for the K7M-RM, would it be ok if i used the bios updates for the K7M ?

Well im at home finaly, and after checking my bios, there is no mention of video shadowing of any type... could this be the problem.
also as stated in an earlier post, there are no bios updates for the K7M-RM, would flashing this board using the normal K7M bios hurt it?

thanks,
CrackRabbit

CrackRabbit, did you follow the link I gave you? There's a massive section in there dedicated to the exact problem you're having.

yes, i did go to the faq page... im reading more now..
but the point is almost moot now, something has fscked up inside the comp badly,
now whenever i press the power button i blow a fuse in my house...
GOD DMNT this sucks arse... ill be in OT venting my frustration if anyone needs me....
