I use the 5770 on a Q6600@3ghz with 6gb of Ram, win 7 x64.

I recenly replaced a 50" 720P set with a 46" 1080P set and have been stunned by the level of performance i'm getting with this card at 1080P. I never gave the card credit for much over 1680x1050 because frankly I was surprised I wasn't crushing my game collection at 720P, but I realized i'm CPU bound at 720P. But using the card at 1080P i'm very happy with performance, I don't have benchies, but i'm the more pleased with the card knowing that for the price i'm getting solid performance at 1920x1080. Previously I thought 5850 would be min needed for gaming this res, but the 5770 does fine. Will try to post numbers later, but quick summary of my games.

Vsyn on, 16xAF all games, AA set to MSAA via CC (not adaptive or SSAA) and used depending on title

Metro 720P DX11 High Tess/DoF off - 60fps with occasional dips to 30
1080P DX11 High Tess/DoF off - 28-40 fps

Just Cause 2 - 4xAA In game settings maxed exept for shadows to medium and high res shadows set to off.
720P 60FPS with frequent dips to 30fps
1080P hovers around 42-44fps in game with almost no dips
I don't know why i'm not getting slammed to 30fps in this game at 1080P like I do when playing at 720P. 5770 runs the game great though IMO

Crysis Warhead I have the 24hz bug at 1080P, not gonna sort out, not huge fan of gameplay.

Dirt 2 NoAA other settings maxed locked at 30fps during gameplay

Just wanted to let gamers using 1920x1200/1080 monitors who are on a budget that the 5770 provides good performance there, subjective to me of course without hard numbers to look at. For ~$150 it makes the card all the more worthwhile IMO.

Half Life 2, Ep1, Ep2, NFS Shift, Mass Effect 2, all play maxed at 1080P just as well as at 720P (60FPS locked, occasional dips). GTAIV plays same at 1080P as at 720P (Read: Not Great)

I can back up those numbers with my overclocked 5750 @ 1600x1200.
I run all the games you mentioned just as well. (I dont play Mass effect).

The 5770 is an amazing value. I was also planning with going with a 5850. But Im very pleased at how well it games even at 2048*1152. Plays Bad Company 2, and L4D2 very well.

Overclocks like a mother too.

is 1000/1350 the max you can get on your hawk? I can run mine at 1030/1380 and I thought I had a weak card lol.

I haven't tried for more, but i will soon. It seems that upping the memory is giving me the most gains. Will try to see how high i can take the mem, tomorrow.

I just recently received my 5770 Vapor-X and after updating the cards BIOS to get all the 800sp (it was only using 720sp due to wrong BIOS) I can concur that this is one of the greatest value card I purchased since a long time!

The 5770 sure is a winner.

Glad you like yours too!

Funny how things have changed. This card used to be criticized here for being worse than a 4870, but having a higher price tag. Now however driver updates have made it faster, and 4870 supply has shriveled up so now it has become probably the best bang for the buck card right now (2 can outperform a 5850 while still cheaper).

Great to hear about your 5770 Attic. You should try ocing that little beast and see what increase you get in performance. I'm glad to hear that you can play Mass Effect 2 maxed out on it.

5770 CF can outpeform a single 5870 from what I've seen. Which is nuts.

OP, I had a similar situation with my 4870. I went from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200. I half expected my 4870 512MB card to be brought to it's knees, or at least struggle. In the games I play, it kept up suprisingly well... much better than I expected. The 5770 is about as fast and has twice the memory, so I would expect it is even better at 1080P and above than my old 4870 would be.

How would the 5770 rank with last gen cards? i.e would a 5770=GTX275,GTX280, 9800Gx2, 4870, 4890 ?

My bad, I actually meant to ask for an OCd 5770 in terms of ranks. I looked up a really informative review and took some screen shots for the overclocked 5770 comparison.

E8400@3.6 and HD5770@935/1300 powers my Sony 40" LCD @1080P just fine. Most games I play on this rig are maxed out as well...

Ya, it's fun :D. I was most geeked at gaming at 1080P, never ran games at res that high. I've got the Egg Cooler and run the card at 900/1300. I've read the reviews, but my impression was that the 5770 wouldn't handle 19x12 because of mem bandwith limitations.

Metro does have some disappointing slowdowns at the res with high settings, but i'm not prepared to make that game an indicator of future titles,... it just crushes so hard. With future DX11 features,... hoping that tessalation gets implemented in future games where gamers have a choice of how much to apply, similiar to heaven 2.0 with normal and extreme, and perhaps a light.

Just wanted to throw out there (for whatever it's worth) that my 5770 Crossfire setup handles pretty much anything so far on 1920x1200. Except ultra high details with crazy shadows and stuff. Very happy with the performance thus far.
