Recently I cannot get any USB reliant peripheral to work properly. First off I have a cell phone USB cable to phone and it barely ever detects the USB cable unless I continuosly plug and unplug. The newest problem is when I try to connect my Sony Mini-disc USB cable to record from Winamp to the player and nothing happnes. The recorder just says "signal not found" and I hear the songs play on my computer when really I'm not supposed to because the sound should be going directly to my mini disc recording. I don't know if this is relevent but when I plug in a USB cable from the mini disc or cell phone I hear 2 sounds instead of one ...as if XP reads the usb then quickly thinks it's not connected anymore. However, when I do unplug the USB it makes a sound that I disconnected. I don't understand what's going on.. I already updated VIA 4 in 1 and installed some USB 2.0 drivers for XP but still no luck.

Asus A7V333 mobo with KT333 chipset (VIA)

I'll be the first to say it, wrong forum. Try general hardware...

But i have no idea what's wrong w/ your computer. did this problem come out of nowhere?

If you're having problems with your onboard USB devices, you may want to try using a PCI USB card. I had a problem with my Abit KT7 RAID (VIA KT133) motherboard, where my power supply wasn't able to supply enough power to my onboard USB, but does so perfectly to the USB ports on a PCI card if I use one.

He prob. thought he was posting in gen. H. or either Tech, support. Btw he insn't stupid if hes from year 2002 just alittle slow ;p
