I don't get it. what did he actually do?

Man #20 missed his flight.

I hate to sound like I'm defending a terrorist and I'm definitely not saying he should be set free, but for someone to be put to death, shouldn't they have had to actually do something, rather than just intend to do something?

Excellent point, LOL :) But awhile back, someone was ranting about there being no convictions about 9/11, and it finally looks like we're going to get one. That's it, no other major point here ;)

I agree, though I wouldn't cry about seeing this guy behind bars for the rest of his days.

I don't agree on this scale. He was in on it, makes him just as guilty as those on the flight. He could have prevented 3100 deaths by making one phone call.

But what about all those here that feel that the death penalty is unjustified:confused:

Well...he says he's part of another team that was supposed to carry out a secondary attack against the White House using Boeing 747s. Which leads to the question where's the rest of the team?

edit: got the plane # wrong.

The whole second wave story doesn't make any sense to me. OBL had to know that after 9/11, there would be measures in place to prevent it. Something is fishy here.
Also, he pleads guilty, but then he says he is going to fight the death penalty. Then why plea guilty?

perhaps he pleaded guilty in hopes to avoid the death penalty?

I heard that this guy is pretty smart. Master's degree, knows three languages, and an FBI guy commented that he knew more about the law than quite a few defense lawyers out there. Threw up so many road blocks for prosecutors for three years. I don't think this guy will eventually get the death penalty. With the skill in using the law that he has, he'll probably beat it.

Why would he plea to avoid the death penalty if the government said they would seek the death penalty even prior to his plea.

Yes that is a flaw in my thinking. Why did he plea guilty?

I'm glad he wasn't let loose like the neo-Nazi terrorists who planned assassination attempts on government and minority leaders as well as a failed bloody revolution.
