I hate to sound like I'm defending a terrorist and I'm definitely not saying he should be set free, but for someone to be put to death, shouldn't they have had to actually do something, rather than just intend to do something?

But what about all those here that feel that the death penalty is unjustified![]()

perhaps he pleaded guilty in hopes to avoid the death penalty?
I heard that this guy is pretty smart. Master's degree, knows three languages, and an FBI guy commented that he knew more about the law than quite a few defense lawyers out there. Threw up so many road blocks for prosecutors for three years. I don't think this guy will eventually get the death penalty. With the skill in using the law that he has, he'll probably beat it.

Why would he plea to avoid the death penalty if the government said they would seek the death penalty even prior to his plea.
