Does the Logitech mouseware software allow program specific button assignment like the Intellipoint software - can I program the mouse buttons for Unreal 2 one way and the buttons for BF1942 another with both sets of presets saved?

Also, how is the responsiveness and accuracy of the MX700 compared to the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (which I am now using)?

If you mean lag, then theres none. Whatsoever.
Accuracy is very high, probably better than the explorer(havent tryed one)

Tracking is still poorer than the Microsoft mice, on select surfaces. One example is 3M's PMS. Other than that, the mouse is great.

Cat, how about on a Ratpadz mousepad, which is what I have now?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that HardOCP's forums could answer that quickly.

The MX 700 tracks just as well as my previous Explorer 3.0 on my Ratpadz, probably better.

I have a MX 500 and it's easily better then the MS offering. Of course my Boomslang 2000 smokes both of them. :) But for accuracy in an optical you simply cannot touch the Logitech MX. Plus they are sexier and fit my hand so much better...

HardOCP 'makes' the Ratpadz. The tracking issue still bothers me. The MS mouse is clearly the more flexible of the two when it comes to surfaces.

Mouse ware will not allow you to save one setting for a button, and then another setting for a different application
Mouse ware will turn itself off in most games
