Mousepad question and a seperate DVD-RW question

first, what's the best mousepad for MX1000 laser mouse? Looks doesnt matter, but price does matter somewhat.

second, during thanksgivings sale at OfficeMax I got a dvd-rw burner for 35 bucks, although this burner can burns dvds just fine, it won't ready ANY dvds, not even data dvds or dvd movies I bought.

NOT RED for general laser mouses, or any laser mouses.

red messes with the internal workings of the mouse, so the laser can't read it. My gram had this problem

It all depends in my opinion. For gaming I would get a Ever glide func pad. If its for office use which is more suited for your mouse, just any run of the mill mouse pad will do. Also if you are a gamer you might want to exchange your mx1000 for a mx510. I'm a VERY competitive gamer, i will tell you no hard surface mouse pad is nearly as accurate as a cloth func pad and no mouse is better than mx510.

Thx for the replies guys.
First, why is mx1000 not the best for gaming? I am pretty much only using it for gaming with some browsing.
Also, since cloth surface is best for laser, what cloth surface mousepad do you recommend for my laser mouse?

and anyone knows about my dvd-rw drive problem? anyway to fix it?

thx

The MX1000 is a good mouse. As are the 500, 510, and 700. I have the 500 and the 700 and love them both. The 510 is just a 500 with an updated sensor.

As for mousepads? Anything will do. Like they said before. Nothing red. Nothing glass. Anything else goes. Wood, tabletop, cloth, doesn't really matter THAT much.

As for the DVD-RW problem. I've had that problem twice. Had to exchange the drive both times.

Mx1000 info and video
Anyways this shows you how bad that mouse actually is, i wouldn't as far to say it's the worst mouse, but it's definately not good. If you are a serious gamer you will need a faster mouse plain and simple. Once again the BEST mouse IS a mx510.

And from the 500 to a 510 is huge different in g's.
