MouseMan Dual Optical or MX500

MX500 is better, has faster optical sensor so better at tracking and more buttons, right now the MX series have the best optical sensors period.

Read this review ,btw there`s also new Logitech Mouseware software available (9.75).

are the new 9.75 drivers still having that annoying mouseware wheel thing? thats so annoying
You mean the scroll issue, well that`s fixed with the new mouseware 9.75.

The scroll issue is fixed and the side buttons are mappable in games now 🙂

Get the MX500. Best mouse I've ever used.

i think thats what i mean...like when you press the wheel the mouse wheel software comes up...

Sorry you mean the "web wheel" that comes up onscreen(has short-cuts for back etc) well you can configure that in the mouseware software, you just assign what you want the button to do,I`ve it so "web wheel" does not come up.,just don`t assign any buttons to "web wheel",assign them to something else.

That's the best news I've heard all day! 😀

Other than the crappy software, I love my MX500! Hopefully, this fixes the gaming issues...

:Q They fixed the issue now? I'm gonna have to buy one today.. 🙂

I was just gonna post and ask if the issue was fixed.. Good thing I searched. 🙂

Weird, they work for me in TFC

Personally, I like my MX300. Those ergo mice give me cramps.

The new Mouseware fixes the scroll issue in most games, but I still have a few games that dont work with it. Jedi Knight 2 for example.

I haven't tried the MX series, but I can only recommend the Dual Optical.....rocks for me, absolutely zero things i can complain about. it's >>>>>>>>>>> my old wingman gaming mouse.

Arg.. I can't use the right side buttons for Quake2.. 🙁 I even assign one of them as a regular keyboard button and still nothing works! 🙁

Edit - Made it mouse 3.. works now. yay 😀

by the way, i'd like to say that with the 975 drivers, double click doesn't work in warcraft 3, at least for me. I reinstalled the 973 and it works fine.

Prodigy, do you mean as in when you double click on one type of unit, it doesnt select all the same type of unit in the area? That double click? Or a feature on the mouse I'm missing?

Curious cause I was thinking of getting that mouse and I play WC3, so its something that affects me.

my warcraft 3 v. 1.03 doesn't have any double clicking problems with the logitech mouseware v. 9.75
weird

the middle button (assigned to double click) simply does nothing at all with 9.75 in warcraft 1.04

windows xp home (danish) sp1 + danish mouseware 9.75 fyi.

could just be me.......but the 973 drivers are just as good anyway.

From the article:
"As for resolution, the engine offers 00 dpi, which means you're fine with any size monitor"
I'd certainly hope the resolution is higher than that.😉
What is its resolution?

Also:
"The Dual Optical felt downright uncooperative after suing the MX 500."
I guess it would cooperate after its descendant was sued.😛

It`s 800 dpi 😉.

🙂

I just got this mouse...thing that sucks is that the software doesn't allow you to set the buttons for program specific applications like the microsoft intellipoint software. :frown:🙁

Incase anybody has missed it,there`s a good review of the Logitech Dual Optical v Logitech MX500 mouse here .
