Mouse to 2nd monitor while in full screen?

While gaming I like to have the game on my primary monitor, and chat windows and such on my secondary monitor. Is there a way to get the mouse onto the 2nd screen when the computer is in full screen mode on the primary monitor, as in a game?

In many Linux games, for example, Control-G will grab/ungrab the mouse. Seems like there must be something like this for Windows. :-/

try out a program called ultramon.. it has lots of features and I believe that the one you are talking about is one of them.

Yeah, that didn't work. Awesome utility anyway, but no luck. 🙁 Anyone else?

i dont see why you would want to do that. If u clicked off screen the game would minimize if its fullscreen and u would go back to background anyhow.

The only true way you could do something like that is run the program in windowed mode. It requires more video card power, but other then that i dont see how u could pull this off.

Which game? For Quake or possibly Doom3 engine games, you can bind keys to "set in_mouse 0" and "set in_mouse 1", IIRC. The first bind will release the mouse and the second will give the mouse back to the game.

Windowed mode need not be required for this.

See, that's awesome, that's exactly what I want. I wonder if I should just look through the consoles of the games I play and figure it out.
