mouse stopped moving, help!!

Not sure why, I couldn't put this in GH because its a PIA to tab around that much,

It was working one second, now I can't find the cursur any where on the screen.
Its still connected, the screen is on, and everything seems to be ok, the scroll even still works, but the cursor is gone?!?!?!?!
 
its ps2, and I'm not sure if it'll work right if the ball isn't in when it posts so it has an origin to track from.

Looks like the cat got'em...

Here's what to do: Unplug, shake around, clean out, smash on the table, replug, reboot.
 
if I shake it with the ring off, the ball might fly out and hit my boss in the eye... its hard enough, when i get to the edge of the pad just to keep the ball from falling off. see i figured out how to make a 2 handed mouse, roll the ball around with your finger tips, and hold the mouse above it so the eye can track the movement, it helps alot with rist fatigue, but i can't find the cursor any more, maybe its tracking too fast.
