Mouse Resolution to Video Resolution.

Is there a comparison of Video Resolutions to Gaming Mice resolutions and what is the optimal settings?

It would seem to me that using a 400DPI mouse setting on the monitor with resolutions of 1600x1200 could be painfull for gaming.

While a 1000DPI mouse setting would be preferred on high resolutions it would be counter productive to someone who may be running at 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution where smaller mouse movements could not be so easily achieved for accuracy?

It's easy to adjust a high resolution mouse to move slower. The resolution simply allows for smoother movement at higher mouse speeds, so a higher resolution mouse is more versatile. The Logitech gaming mice even have buttons for sensitivity adjustment on the mouse itself, for adjustment on the fly.
