Mouse recommendation

My MS Explorer 3.0 died yesterday. I need something that is similar. I prefer wired. I was going to get the Laser 6000 but in all honesty, that mouse is a POS and is just a really bad design.

I guess I'm going to have to look for something Logitech since MS discontinued their Intellimouse Explorer line. Can someone recommend one?

I prefer the MX518. Much softer, nicer scroll wheel, less pad-picky, cheaper, not less precise, better placed dpi switch buttons, one more thumb button.
