My mouse pointer randomly pauses briefly accompanied by 2 sets of 2 tones. I can't figure this out for the life of me. I've run adaware and spybot seek and destroy in case its a spyware ap or something.
So let me see if I can explain this well....
Regardless of what I'm doing, playing a game, browsing the web, whatever... every now and then I get random brief pauses that are preceeded and followed by 2 quick tones. The whole thing takes about a second and a half, so it's more annoying than anything.
I'll be on the PC then hear Beep Boop (Mouse pause) Boop Beep!
Anyone have this? Anything? Tips for how to troubleshoot it?
I can't pinpoint when it started, it's not hardware unless it's my monitor which is my most recent purchase by far (got it 2 months ago, all the other stuff is a year old). Been running XP on this PC the whole time. It's fairly recent that this is happening. I thought maybe it's mouse drivers, but seems like some program is doing it maybe.
Dell 2001FP LCD monitor
Microsoft Explorer mouse (although it does this with my logitech wireless mouse also)
Windows XP (service pack 1)
P4 3.0
Asus P4P800 deluxe Mobo
WD hard drive
ATI Radeon 9700 pro Video Card
Any help at all would be fantastic.
