Mouse problems when online

I have had the same problem with both my computer systems, so suspect it's a software problem. I'm currently running 98 SE and Netscape 4.67 on an Abit KT7A with 256 meg of RAM. My service provider is Juno. What happens is my mouse buttons stop working clicking. The mouse still moves, but if I want to save a page or open a new window I can only do it through the menus, I can't double click the hyperlinks nor use open the context menu with my right mouse button.

I can clear up the problem by logging off and restarting Windows, but that is annoying. When the mouse usually dies, it usually happens after I've opened several windows, but occasionally happens on my first window.

Any ideas?

What type of mouse are you using? Serial or PS/2? If it is serial, your modem and serial port IRQ's may be conflicting.
