I moved to an optical mouse, and have problems. I have XP home. For instance, if I am reading the forums here at AnandTech, I can click to page forward, but when I page to go back, I may end up at my Yahoo start page, or the home page for AnandTech. This can happen on any forum. Or I can start at Yahoo, and click on my bookmarks, and click on the site I want to go to on the bookmarks menu, and I may or may not go to that site. I may end up on the site that is on the Yahoo page underneath the bookmark menu. It's as if the mouse is not really "seeing" the bookmarks menu, and only seeing the Yahoo sites, such as shopping, travel, real estate, etc. This occurs with Netscape or IE. I've tried various mouse settings, and drivers, and the same thing happens, no matter what. I've tried two different optical mice and got the same results. I hope this is clearer than muddy water.
