Let me tell you a story.

I come home one night from a lan party to hear my parents say that their computer is broken. Ok ok, nothing new. My old computer a Pentium 166 (i already told them to buy a new one) won't work cause my dad plug the PS2 keyboard into the mouse port when it should have been a serial (i think thats the larger plug) and smelt smoke.

Now the mouse port is dead and some how the cooling fan is broken. I have no clue how that happened. Anyone have ideas on what to do, how much it would cost to fix and where can i find the a cheap computer is unrepairable.

cooling fan can be replaced.

if mouse port is truly dead, it's gonna be cheaper to just get a USB mouse then to try to repair the port

Heisenberg your preaching to the choir. trying to explain computers to my parents is like trying to get and elephant to pee into a shot glass.
