Mouse pointer 'stuck' on NFS3

For some reason an image of the mouse pointer will show up at the center of the screen for a minute or two after starting the demo. I haven't tested any other games yet to see if this is the case. It remains there until I end the program. Looking under Display Properties, apparently my graphics hardware acceleration has been lowered to 'most' by Windows to correct this problem. Any ideas?

Did you check the readme for the Demo? Maybe there's some sort of issue with your MB.
