Mouse pointer is Invisible

The mouse is present because when I roll over icons it does highlight them. This issue just happened about 2 days ago. Is there something in the control panel that I need check or uncheck to resolve this problem? Please advise.

Control Panel > Mouse settings > look at pointers settings for scheme or customizations. If you have a custom mouse driver installed that came with your mouse, you may have a lot more pointers options to check than with the default Windwoes driver.

Mouse pointer on my Win98 Inspiron 7000 laptop did that sometimes coming out of suspend mode. Disabled suspend mode and now no more problems.
