I have an HP laptop that has a touch pad for the mouse. Right on the side of that pad there is an area where you can move your finger up and down and it will move the current page up or down.

The other night I turned on my computer and there is a tab on my screen that says:

C:\Program Files\Apoint2k\Apntex.exe

When I close this I can not use the scroll thing to move a page up and down. I have to leave it open. anyone have any clue as to what happened and how to fix the issue.

Thanks

What OS are you using?

That is the ALPS Touchpad application.

What is it that you mean by 'TAB'?
Is it the STARTUP Dialog box?

I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

I mean like a window on the task bar....you click it and a black screen pops up with a cursor and that is it.

I believe it is the start up dialog box.

More than likely the driver is corrupted is not finished loading.

To check, go to:
START \ RUN and type: msconfig
click the 'STARTUP' tab and check to see if 'apntex.exe' is listed.
Also click the 'SERVICES' tab to see if it is listed there.

You may want to re-install or update the driver.
