Mouse "overclocking" software?

I remember a utility from a while back that allows you to increase the refresh rate of your PS/2 mouse. Anyone know if it's still around somewhere, and if it works with XP?

It does actually, but now I just found out you can make changes within your device manager. Default is 100hz, and you can set it at 200hz. Makes a huge difference!

In what way? Maybe I should try this.

It makes your mouse pointer move much smoother across the screen. If you use a USB mouse then disregard. Your sampling rate is already higher then an effective "200Hz" samples a second.

Try TweakUI. You can adjust the response time with that software and other tweaks to XP. It's part of the Powertoy set.

Additionally, for those wanting to make sure your XP security settings are good in SP2, download the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer....
