Mouse lag/acceleration issue in BF2

Hello!

I was hoping someone here could help me with an issue I seem to be having ONLY in Battlefield 2. I was a comp player in CAL/TWL and never had mouse issues when gaming on a Microsoft Habu. I haven't been active (hasn't been any real competition) since I got a new mouse in September 2010 - a Razer Imperator.

By all accounts, this should be a much better mouse in every respect, however, it seems to actually hate BF2. When I try to move quickly in any direction, it feels very sluggish/unresponsive, almost like there is negative acceleration working against me. It is not as smooth and responsive as I am used to in the game. Let me clarify that this does not happen on the desktop or in any other game, just BF2. BC2 is fine, Crysis is fine, any COD games are fine, etc.

However, I have had other problems with the mouse. On the rare occasion, I can only move it vertically/horizontally, but unplugging then plugging it back in solves that. Other times, the mouse is completely unresponsive, but, again, unplugging then plugging it back in solves the issue.

I have tried switching the USB ports, and I have reinstalled Windows (and therefore the drivers) at least once in the past 8 months, same issue.

I have mouse acceleration disabled in Windows, and the problem persists regardless of what sensitivity setting I play on.

Any helps/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Cy

Is there a newer Firmware available than the one you are using? A visit to the Razer website download section may be in order.

Hi DirkGently, thanks for your advice - I unfortunately overlooked updating the firmware at the onset of this problem.

However, I did update it shortly after making this thread. Also, I noticed - to my embarrassment - that although I had disabled mouse acceleration in Windows, it was left on in the Razer Imperator Configurator...

I ran a few tests and it seems to be working normally. I hope it continues that way (I would have updated this thread sooner, but I was out of town for the past two days).

Thanks,

Cy
