I recently got a MS Optical mouse from HD, and the lights of the mouse stay on even after I turn my computer off! My keyboard's number lock light stays on also, but I never really bother because it was as noticable. The mouse light is red and I can see it the dark even when I'm down the hall, looks creepy. Prior to this mouse I had another optical mouse, but it didn't have the same type of lights as this MS mouse, so I don't know if it's lights stayed off because you actually have to turn it over to see the light. Thanks

I only had this happen to me once, it was with cheap generic powersupply, the keyboard light would turn off after 10 minutes.

Seriously though I have a cheap usb keyboard and a Logitech optical mouse. All 3 lights on the keyboard flash slowly when the computer is off and the mouse gives off a dull glow.

Well, I'm not familiar with the mobo thats in your rig, but some motherboards support the ability to turn on via clicking the mouse or by hitting a key or sequence of keys, perhaps that is the issue here as the keyboard would have to be powered on in order to send signals, correct? Might wanna check in your bios and turn off the feature.

Can you hit your spacebar and/or click your mouse button to turn your computer back on?

Might be an option in your bios for this that keeps the lights on.

I have an EPoX board that has this feature, but must be turned off via a jumper. It's usually labeled KBPO (Keyboard Power On)

My keyboard use to have these power off type keys, forget exactly what they were because I would mistakenly hit them so often the I popped them out of the keyboard. I don't have a clue what kind of mobo I have, it was from that overstock andara barebones deal. The lights stay on forever, doesn't turn off after a minutes. I guess it doesn't really matter except the mouse looks so evil, guess MS is like that...

The reason the light stays on is because you probably have usb keyboard support and usb mouse support turned on in the bios. At least that is what happens when I have it on. If I turn off usb keyboard and mouse support in the bios the light doesn't stay on anymore. Hope this solves your problem.
