See if Windows update comes up with any driver updates. Sounds like a USB driver issue. You may want to look at the PC manufacturer site and see if they have a USB driver update as well.
FTM, if you unplug and re-attach the mouse, does it come back? Try a different USB port?
I also ran across a thread where people where discussing a model of the Z going to 10, but the trackpad had no issues with the new OS. I am not sure what kind of differences lie on the trackpad on different submodels though.
I had trouble with Win10 Insider Preview and my Acer Aspire touchpad.
Ended up loading some older Win8 Synaptic drivers which fixed the problem.
Since then Win10 came out with some newer Synaptic touchpad drivers that worked - but this may only be for the Win10 Insiders here's the older ones that may work http://www.synaptics.com/en/drivers.php
on second thought ..if it only occurs after resume from sleep mode - the older drivers may not help - my problem happened even when it was from a full reboot. For me - sleep mode resume problems are usually fixed by never going into sleep mode
Yeah, disregard post #5 in the disabled aspect. I think it's a driver issue, but which one? One question I have is "does this happen with a regular mouse?" Can you retain your mouse movements through USB connection?
Also, if you toggle the touchpad on and off after the resume, does it make any difference?
I know what you mean. Some say sleep is rough on an SSD. But when I added one to my laptop, I decided that I'll take my chances, because the sleep cycle is something I can't do without on my personal laptop.
You can write a batch script that will disable / enable the trackpad driver. You'll need to bind it to the keyboard in order to use it though, obviously.
