Mouse for Forced to corners of the screen.

A friend mine has a few games that experience a problem where his mouse is thrown into the corners of his screen during random times while playing He has an ATI card and it's latest drivers. Any suggestions?

Are you sure it's not a mouse issue?

Could be a shitty mouse so try a different one.

Happens to me once in a while at work, but I believe it's my KVM causing the issue. Only happens like once a day, so I dont worry about it, and it only lasts a couple seconds......

Could be a problem with the window itself. This happens when you alt+tab sometimes (has for me) I think.

Is he playing on a rough surface? There would be an issue if his mouse went over a mm sized hole on the table his mouse is...have him get a mousepad.

Most likely either a bad mouse or a bad surface (glass or a high-gloss surface). Testing with a spare should confirm, and you can always buy a cheap spare optical for $5-10ish, though I suggest sticking with a trusted manufacturer like Logitech or Microsoft and staying away from junk like Micro Innovations.
