Mouse doesn't work every other boot up

I am running on an msi delta2 platinum (that's a K7 mboard) and I have xp Pro with a USB keyboard and a PS/2 mouse. Whenever I reset my computer and windows boots up everything works fine except for my mouse, which I cannot get working at all. However the next time I reset the mouse works fine, then the next time not working, etc. I have the latest mboard/chipset drivers and have even flashed to the most recent bios, I've tried every solution I could find on the MSI site and pretty much anywhere else and was just wondering if anyone had any idea what i could try.

sorry, cant help you...

but i did have the same problem with my old p3 mb. i called tech support and they told me that it had to do with the motherboard and incompability with windows. which sounds about right since that problem only happened with windows 2k at the time and worked fine with windowsme.

THis is a MAJOR PITA!

I've had this problem with both ps2 and usb mice. I've tried other drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling till I wanted to puke. Eventually I just nuked the HD and reinstalled.

Dammit man you jinxed me!

When I got home and fired-up my rig, this kinda crappola with the mouse started again! LOL
