Mouse doesn?t function after booting

Hey guys,
My mouse doesn?t function after my PC is switched on, it neither moves nor the buttons work. I then have to go to the device manager and refresh the computer or the mouse. This stuff happens rarely, most of the time my mouse works perfectly. What could be the problem? Please help!

 
is it a USB mouse?

I have a USB mouse and it did the same thing. The first time it was happening it turned out to be a piece of crappy software. I uninstalled it and every thing was fine. The second time it turn out that i had a bad connection. i cleaned the connectors on the back of the PC and everythings been fine since.

So you might want to try making sure there is a good connection between the mouse and PC. this could be a problem if its USB or PS2. And if you have installed any new software lately that might be the cause.

Most likely it is because your cord is partly out or doesnt have a great connection to the ps2 or usb port. Thats what does it on mine.
