Mouse disappearing when over textboxes or text

Not sure where this would go, but I think this might be a problem with nview. Basically what happens is that when I mouse over textboxes in Firefox or even worse over text in Word, my mouse disappears so its extremely hard to edit Word documents when I'm in portrait mode (where I turn my LCD sideways for 1050x1680 res). Anyone else experience this problem and know how to fix it?
