Mouse disapears behind IE ?!?!

I have been having a lot of problems with my computer ever since I got some new ram. So, I formated and reinstalled win2k and 98. But everything stills runs flaky. One example is that the mouse disapears behind IE when ever it is loading a page, some times it even totally freezes. Same thing happens with Outlook. In various other programs I am also haveing some strange problems. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Note: I never had these problems with the old ram, but after using the new ram, i even see these problems when u put back the old ram.

Specs:
Aopen ax6bc pro ii millenium edition (440bx)
pc100 256mb crucial registered ecc
geforce 1 (32mb)

I just played around with some bios settings and i think that outlook is running a little better, but IE is still bad. Does this sound like something a bios setting would cause??

Easy fix... get into your display properties:
Right click on your desktop
Left click on properties
Left click on the settings tab
Left click on the advanced button
Left click on the troubleshooting tab
Move the slider for hardware acceleration 1 bar to the left, it should say something along the lines of "Disable cursor and bitmap accelerations..."
Then click OK and voila that should fix the problem.

I just tried it still no luck. But its not only the mouse that opperates strange; When I type in a URL, sometimes it freezes after a few letters and then continues again. In Outlook when i put my mouse over a link, sometimes it can take a while beofre it turns into the pointer so I can click on it. I have never had these problems beofre, my system used to run flawless. Ever since i put in the new ram everything went haywire. And even now when i put my old ram back in, I get the same dammm problems!

you bet, tookike 100000 restarts to get them all in 🙂 I have a feeling it is hardware, or bios related, cuase i have never had these problems and the only thing that has changed is my ram, and bios settings. But I can't seem to figure out what exactly it is.

I did just try to put the hardware acceleeration to none -- the mouse didn't disapear behind IE, but it still froze while typing and loading the page, grrrr.
