My new diamondback mouse makes a very annoying squeaking noise when I press down on the left mouse button. Was wondering if I could making apply some sort of oil to make it stop. Its hard to explain the noise but it kinda sounds like a mouse exercise wheel and is audible even with headphones on, blah. Any suggestions, if I can't get this fixed im definately pushing for an RMA.

And clean it. Lots of dirt can get in the spaces between the buttons, as well as inside from the scrollwheel.

Also, I've heard that sewing machine oil is supposed to be "gentler" than the 3-in-1 oil typically recommended. Something about it being friendlier to plastic parts, I seem to remember?

Unless they're under the teflon pads I can't find any screws on the bottom, or anywhere else on this mouse. Any other way to take it apart?

1) Maybe they are under the teflon pads.:)

2) They might also stick screws under the label on the bottom; hard drive manfacturers often put screws under the labels on the top of their drives.
