Okay, I know what you're all thinking. "Search the forums." Did, no help. Because my problem is slightly more complicated than the title makes it seem.
I'm using a Gyration Ultra mouse to control my HTPC. I'm using Media Portal as my front end (rocks). I'd like to be able to scroll through my libraries with the mouse wheel, then depress the mouse wheel (wheel click) to play the selected track/video/picture.
Essentially this is as simple as making a wheel click = ENTER. I have no option to assign the button in the XP control panel. So I downloaded Intellimouse and tried that. No go. Same for Logitech. Applications don't register the click. When I wheel click in IE or Word, I get the auto-scroll (so its not a hardware limitation). I've assigned 10 different functions: none of them get picked up by anything but word and IE.
So, now what do I do?
And no, I don't have the CD that came with the mouse and keyboard, so I don't have GyroTools Media Control (which would do this for me). But if someone has an extra copy, I'd love to try it...
Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.
