Mouse at work (without installing drivers)

So my job won't install drivers on my work laptop because they say that they do not allow personal mouses. The mouse they issued was the standard HP mouse.

Given that I have Windows XP SP3 installed, is there a mouse that I can buy that allows for both vertical AND horizontal scrollwheel functions (I work with a TON of spreadsheets) without installing a 3rd party driver?

I can plug in my Logitech mouse and it'll work, but the scrollwheel only works vertically.

Thanks!

Can you set your spreadsheet program to scroll with keyboard keys? You could get a Logitech G9x, program it on another computer, and on your work computer it will just function as a keyboard. But the G9x has horrible side scrolling action. The wheel is just too stiff and tends to spin instead.
