I'm picking up a set of 4 tires over the weekend, 3rd party dealer... and unfortunately they don't do mounting.

Does anyone know of any major shops that will mount tires for free or low cost?

I'm in Colorado if that makes a difference.

most places (near me anyways) charge around ~20/tire to mount and balance. NTB, discount tire, Sam's/WalMart, etc...

if you have regular size tires then wal-mart will be the cheapest. Sears is next if you have over sized/TPMS rims.

Call around to some shops as well as some offer decent prices and some don;t.

ask the 3rd party dealer who does their mounting and price.

call the shops that you pass by daily.

I would say $20 is AVERAGE price for mount and balance.

there are tire disponsal fee, valve stem and shop fees to watch out for. SO when you ask... ask for a OUT THE DOOR price.

discount tire will rape you on carry in tires but i think they offer lifetime balance and etc.

But $20-25 is a AVERAGE price. Rarely do i see $10/tires anymore.

I just got 4 tires mounted/balanced/new valve stems at a local shop and the total came out to ~$75.

Careful with walmart. They will not mount a tire with a lower speed rating than what comes from the factory.

I wish I had known that before I loaded the tires up and drove there.

Call used tire shops. A place around me does it for $10/tire.

Take the rims off the car and then have them install them. They did not want to install the tires on my CTS as I went one size smaller. So I asked what if I came in with rims and a tire would you install? He said yea and would mark it as a loose rim. So I got their jack and removed my rims in the parking lot and then had them install them. :)

Yeah that's what I did at another place since they charged more to take the wheels off the car.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
