mounting problems

Trying to copy CD's in linux using a TDK DVD-rom drive and a generic CD/RW drive. seems that the drives are mounted. I have /mnt/cdrom & /mnt/cdrom1, yet no files are displayed inside dir's. wondering if this actually means that they are mounted.

So, I start knCD and it seems that i can only burn from my CD/RW drive (I cant insert the read disc, and burn to CDR), and then I can only listen to CD's using the DVD drive. this seems very strange, I figure i should be able to copy using both drives, and listen to music on both drives.

let me know what you think

The existance of /mnt/cdrom and /mnt/cdrom1 means nothing, from /mnt type 'mount cdrom' or 'mount cdrom1' and see if it mounts then.
