Ok I just got my thermalright heatsink in and a panaflo fan. I have some general questions about it, first when I put the fan on do I want the fan blowing on the heatsink or blowing away from the heatsink? Secondly it came with some white glue stuff, I assume you put this on the copper part that connects to the cpu? I am surprised thermalright did not package any instructions for this when I recieved it. Anyone have a good link for how to set this up properly?

Any help would be much appreciated, I dont want to break it the first day I get it :)

Thanks much

Good choice.........the grease you got should be thermal grease......you put it directly on the cpu die all you need is just enough to cover the die completely.....it shouldn't ooze out the sides all over the cpu.....to install it all you have to do is attach one side first then gently with a flat blade screwdriver ( i would use on thats just big enough to fit snugly in the slot on the retaining clip or it might slip off and damage your board ) insert it in the retaining clip slot and firmly pull out and down so that the retaining clip fits over the tabs on the zif socket.......you gotta be kinda gentle with those or you might break off the tabs on the socket........install the fan plug it in and your set......good luck....:)
