After a few years of drooling, I finally am getting close to having the funds for one of these monsters. Just a couple questions.

1) Black wrinkle powder coat. Does it really look that nice in person, how easily does it scratch, and how well does it resist smudges/fingerprints/etc?
2) CYO, obviously. U2-UFO or Ascension, and is the Horizon option a good idea? I have two PA120.3 rads, and a PA120.2.

HOWEVER Motf if ur gonna get one, grab a CYO, and get the horizontal Motherboard Option.

Its fairly resistant to scratches, the scratches u see are because of force when installing parts

I've been wanting a mountain mods case too, for a long long time. Now that I have my tax return, I'm highly tempted to pick one up.

Every other case I look at seems to have to have mods done to add in a triple radiator for water cooling, and I live in a quiet apartment so my dremel can't see the light of day right now.

I can fit all three radiators into a CYO U2-UFO Horizon, (one SSD and one optical) but then there's no expansion room. Ascension looks like a better plan, although it's a weird looking case, at the size of an end table. It'd give me space for another triple radiator in the future, or just unblocked fans for cool air.

Aigo, I don't understand why the Horizon is better. I could see it for an air cooling and a really heavy HSF, but not for water. The volume of the case remains unchanged, and the number of fan ports is still the same (using CYO options), so you get the same number of radiators.

Only if you get the glossy black will you be able to see fingerprints easily (this is why black kitchen appliances suck...impossible to keep looking spotless.) But this is the color that I have and its still a beautiful thing.

I have a custom version of the Ufo Duality (2 computers in one box) and can't say enough about how much I enjoy this case and how glad I am to have gotten it a year or two ago when I had the budget for it.

no the horri is better because you have better routing management.

Also, u have more floor space, because u dont have a board hanging sidways on the floor.
Intead its on a step which gives u the bottom floor space as well.

Okay, that makes sense. Ascension Horizon it is then. Extra six inches of height will keep me from ever having to add a box on top like you did, and horizon for floorspace.

Also on the Horizon option, you have less stress if you run multiple gpu's or use heavy heatsinks. More than likely you will go H2o and heatsink wont be an issue, but its also an advantage to the horizon option.

I now have an extended ascension; this thing is huge. Its a lot bigger in person than you would imagine. Plenty of room for any need

SWEET, take some pics please!

I've been going over cases like mad the past few weeks and can't make up my mind. I want to create a first time water cooling setup.

I keep waffling back and forth between the HAF 932 and one of the mountain mod cases. I found a radiator for the 932 that fits perfectly but it's aluminum, so now I'm looking at the mountain mods again because of how easy it would be to put in a couple sets of triple fan radiators. I want it to be as easy and painless as possible for my first attempt to watercool.

I'm not into water cooling but I love my MM case. I love it more than a Lian Li PC-V1000 or a Silverstone TJ-09 that I had in the past...

Would that be the pictured case from earlier in this thread, that also has a big black box on top?

yup.. my rad chamber is the big black box on top. :D

Guys the MM series are great cases, if you are gonna be in this hobby we call customization.
This isnt something that you want to take to the office tho, unless u want a good foot rest.

But it will house a ton of water EQ, u can get custom phase EQ fitted even. Its a big BOX.

Not trying to steal your thread, but I have a question about these cases.
How would the H2GO case be for someone that's borderline WC, but only has a single GPU to cool?
I really don't want a BIG box & from what I read about the H2GO, it can handle two 120.2's. That would be enough for a GPU & my i7 920, yes?
Does these things come assembled? I read a review & it was sent in pieces & had to be put together. No rivets involved, I hope? Are the motherboard trays removable for easy heatsink swapping until one decides to get wet?
Again, apologies for stealing your thread. :)

Sorry for the delay. I will try to get some pics posted. I bought my case from a fellow member on XS. He had a build log. I am planning to make some changes.
Right now the case has the standard mobo tray and back panel, but I will either do a custom back panel or temporarily order a horizon panel with 10pci mobo panel for my W555/sr-2 build.

I am new to H2o, but from my findings; Yes, you can run 2x 120.2, but remember the bigger the rad, the better your chances are to keep things cool.
Cases come unassembled and each panel is basically flat/individually wrapped. No rivets used at all on these that I have ever seen.
Mobo trays are modular and removable. Depending on the layout, you should be able to swap heatsinks within the case as there is usually plenty of room and access, but can easily be removed too.

I have on order a Ascension Crystal Ship CYO. I went with the trinity front and horizon 10 pci back. I am thrown the eVGA classified 4x SLI board in it with three 360 rads and three seperate loops. all tubing and fittings will be black and the led lighting will be red with some UV for effect

Sounds like a fun project, post pics when you set it up!

Question about the front and back panels on the 18x18x18 cases... Can you rotate them 90, 180, or 270 degrees; or are they designed to be mounted only one way?

You can mount them and way you like.

I received my MM case yesterday and after starting to set it up I noticed a couple of minor issues. After emailing them about the issues the response I received has led me to never do any business with them again. And I wanted to get the extended version for my next build but I am going to look elsewhere now.

When you spend $500 case you expect it to be a well finished product and have all the hardware you would need to put it together properly. MM felt that I was asking to much of them when I expect that.

Whoa, that's not good to hear.

The more I look at these cases, the more I think I could probably build something similar that suits my needs and maybe has better cable management myself. Although, I'd probably buy some parts like the motherboard tray from MM or Lian Li.

MM went ahead and shipped me out the extra screws. I still went ahead and ordered over $20 in screws on my own so that I could replace all the silver screws with black ones.
I painted the silver tapered screws face with gloss black paint so that it matched the rest of the case.

I still need to find a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter that I like to mount the SSD's.
