Cue the "Updating now!" posts.

Fixes an issue that may prevent Mail from displaying messages
Improves AFP file transfer performance over 802.11ac Wi-Fi
Resolves an issue that may prevent a screen saver from starting automatically
Improves Xsan reliability
Improves reliability when transferring large files over Ethernet
Improves performance when authenticating to an Open Directory server
Addresses an issue that prevented a smart card from unlocking preference panes in System Preferences
Contains the improvements included in MacBook Air (Mid 2013) Software Update 1.0

Should provide native Haswell CPU support, for use with (newer model hardware) Hackintosh machines.

Not if you're on 802.11ac, since 802.11ac speeds double with this update. It went from 22 MB/s to 45 MB/s according to benches.

I'm also hoping that Ethernet large file transfer thing is solved completely. Occasionally I would get periodic hangs with large file transfers.

Plus, inevitably there will be some new bugs introduced with 10.9.0. In my case, I'll have to hold off anyway, since I don't have 10.9-compatible VPN software.

I bought another mini last night, switched out the hard drive, did the network recovery and was kinda shocked when 10.8.5 was installed. Not that it matters, but I didn't realize it was out yet.

Might as well wait until 10.9 at this point

Many people dont upgrade to the next major rev for awhile. I usually stay one major release behind unless there is a compelling reason to do so.

Yea but that's only for people with both the new Airs and an AC router... not a big crowd.

Well for me finder tabs alone are enough of a reason to upgrade. Plus the efficiency tweaks might boost battery life. And I wouldn't mind having Maps with the awesome Flyover view on my laptop.
