Mountain Dew quenches thirst

THAT is a matter of opinion, depending on each person's taste. I LIKE Dew, but mostly for the extra caffiene...I DON'T think it's the BEST soda, just a decent one. IMO, it helps quench a thirst, but perhaps not as well as some of the "engineered drinks".

Gatorade increas my thirst, for some reason. Maybe it is too sugary, or tates too sugary. Never been a big Gatorade fan.

I used to prefer Powerade to Gatorade.

For quenching THIRST, water is clearly #1. If you're only a little thirsty, or just need something to wash down your food, soda, juice, beer, wine etc. work.

I prefer to hook up to a saline drip. Now thats some thirst quenching goodness! Actually, water is good. Mtn Dew does not a thirst quench.

Water with a little bit of real lemon squeezed in is a much better choice

Suppose you drink 8 oz of water with some caffeine in it. Suppose that caffeine made you urinate an extra 1 oz. You have a net gain of 7 oz of water to your body. Thus, you quenched 7 oz of thirst.

True, if you drank 8 oz of pure water, you'd quench 8 oz of thirst. But to pretend that the caffeinated water didn't quench thirst is demonstrably false.
