mount hdd

i installed a new hdd in my computer but device manager reconized it but my computer did not .i think i have to mount it but i don't know how?help.......

Go to Computer Management>Disk Management

You should see your new HDD with a grey box at the bottom. Right click it and format the drive.

I have a wd1600js hdd and my connections are sata 2 but it is a sata 3 can i still use it.?

Yes, it will work just fine. Sata3 offers no real advantage for spinning disks.
