mount exhaust fan top or bottom?

would you prefer the mount the exhaust fan on the top or the bottom vent. i think the bottom would better because there is already an exhaust fan in the psu case which might cause turbulence. the metal tab under the psu can be removed without a problem.

It really won't make that much difference.
If I was doing it I would cut out the stamped grills and use both. Mount your fans with a wire grill instead.
Those grills impede airflow quite a bit and will make stubstancial difference once removed.

You can use a hole saw or a Dremel. There is another device called a "nibbler" that some people use for case modification.

exhaust fan under the PSU. If you want an Intake, it goes in the bottom-right corner near the hard drives. cutting out those restrictive grills is good advice IMHO, ditto for neatening up the cables.

Yes exhaust should be as high as possible. Intake should be as low as possible. Heat rises... And you should plug any locations that don't actually have a fan mounted. Air like water, electricity and students, takes the path of least risistance...
