Mount and Blade

Has anyone plated Mount and Blade? the reviews are stable around an 8 and they are mixed depending on what you like to play. Its like a hybrid action/strategy type. i think it was compared to Sid Meiers Pirate but in medieval aspect.

I am playing the demo but it seems to be really slow in the beginning but I've read it supposed to get much better. just wanted some personal views

I paid for it back when it was an independent project. Had a lot of potential, though I wouldn't compare it directly to Sid's Pirates. Now that they have re-released it I am a little interested to see if it's changed but I am not paying for it twice.

its only $20 on bestbuy.com ($30 at the store for some reason)...if a game has replay value, or longevity I will but it def even if it isnt the best game.

@Dorkenstein:
If you still have the email address you used when you originally purchased the game you can resend your serial key here. The one I had bought in June '06 still works with the current version.

@9mak9:
The game becomes more interesting once you join a faction and start participating in wars or coups and have your own villages/castles/towns. But basically what you see in the demo is what you get in the full version. So have you reached the limits of the demo and are you prepared to spend the $20-$30 to do more?

I liked the game for the excellent mounted combat, which is easily the best of any game I've played. The actual plot was written on a bit of toilet paper. Don't expect any decent story. It's a sandbox game.

Back before they added in all the factions and quests the game was pretty dry, but it's almost like there's a random plot generator in there now.

I have only played a little bit running around the first few towns and playing some skirmishes to get any idea of the battles. I haven't had a chance to progress just yet. I figured $20 is worth a game that has a lot of depth, and by the looks of this one it has a lot of value to it.

Thank you guys so much for bringing this game to my attention. Loads of fun so far and will be treating myself to the activation for Xmas 🙂
