So i was running to work late today, so i figured i might as well ride rather than take the bus. Great idea... 'till i walked out and relaiized its not even 40 degrees out....

I generally don't ride when it's less than 40... in this kinda weather the tires never really warm up, so you gotta take corners carefully and such. What about you guys?

PS: I just scored an f4i upper fairing in one piece for $50 shipped. woot!

I'm putting the bike away for the season today. We never got to ride this summer! Did you ever get with Aaron from grafikintentions.com about that vinyl?

Cyclers are so much more tough, they will ride out in freezing weather or scorching, no matter what.

I ride even when it get to below 40 at night (it doesn't happen much in Houston), but I do. Wind Chill and cold weather. BRRRRRRRRrrrrrr, but it is still fun once you get warmed up.

40 degrees is my lower limit. Thankfully, I live in Texas and my bike only takes a 2 week nap each winter : )

Well when I used to use the bike for my only transportation, I'd ride in below freezing weather. But now that it's a toy, I'd say 55ish is as low as I'd want to ride in.

I don't ride if I find ice in my bird baths when I take the dogs out. My preferences are 45-85 for most of my riding. I have a heated jacket and the hand grips on my bike are heated (03 K1200RS).

I don't care much for rainy days and won't take the bike to work if I KNOW it will rain, but will take it on 30% and less days.

No definite limit on temperature; you can always dress for that. Rather it's the driving conditions that limit my time. Rain is acceptible but once i get into the chance of snow or sleet, then it's time to park it. I did get caught in snow storm crossing Leadville Pass; definitely makes for miserable riding.......but good stories lol

When I didn't have an option I would go as low as 35 deg. Now it's about 45 deg.

thank God it rarely gets that cold down here in South Texas.
Hopefully I'll be riding all winter...or at least through most of it.

I rode today. It was mid-30s this morning. I just got my new jacket, pants, and gloves yesterday. I only wore a t-shirt underneath and was totally comfortable.:D I plan to ride untless there's snow or ice on the road. I'm in North Jersey, btw.

I'll ride down into the 30's. Have done high 20's a few times, but the bike doesn't like to start when that cold.

how does a motorcycle ride in the snow?

won't they just slip and fall? how do those tires even get traction?
