Motoroloa PTP 600 Information

Shakeout

Junior Member
I have been looking at this device as a possible way to mesh separate locations together, and was wondering what kind of equipment others have used to accomplish this.

The version of the PTP 600 I was looking at was the light, which is capable of 150mbs aggregate or 75up and 75down

The design of the network would form a triangle with a few spokes off each corner.

D--C---B----E
...... \ /
........A------F

Sorry for my limited ASCII art ability the periods are just to hold the formatting.

I was looking at using a Cisco 2821 with a 2 routable port ethernet (HWIC-2FE), but I was told the 2821 isn't capable of handling that amount of bandwidth.

So I?m wondering now if I couldn't just put a layer 3 switch at A, B, and C and just link everything that way, since I know it would handle the bandwidth.

Thoughts and Suggestions greatly appreciated.
