Do you have to sign up with Verizon to get this? I'm currently with them, but my contract is not up for renewal yet.... just wondering how this works.

If you have a expired contract with verizon wireless and paying month by month.. can you have a new activation but transfer your old number to the new activation so that the rebates still apply? Or do you need to take a completely new account with new number?

As everybody here is a techy, you might be disappointed.

I asked my corporate Verizon liason about this several months ago and she said that Verizon might open the Bluetooth functionality. I've been waiting ever since.

For those of you who don't want to give money to a corporate POS like Verizon, Motorola makes several similar handsets for the global GSM community. The Motorola V600 is a similar beast for GSM 850/900/1800/1900 bands, and includes Bluetooth, WAP, GPRS, and USB/Serial connectivity. It also includes a digital camera and speakerphone.
