This is one of the best Motorola phones!!!
You can't find this cheaper than this!!
I check and someone posted about this phone... and he said it was only for New Jersey and you need 2 year contract...

You only need service activation for this!!!!
And you can use it anywhere.., not just New Jersey

Damn that's a great deal, might have to pick one up I was checking into other carriers anyways I have sprint pcs right now...and it's not that great.

Nice deal, but Buy.com has the same phone for $99 as long as you purchase activation at the same time. That let's you wait for only one $100 rebate instead of one $100 as well as one $150 from Amazon.

Now, if you are REALLY snazzy, maybe you can buy this phone from Amazon and do an AMEX BVG PM to Buy.com and make $150 off the deal 😀

So, it would look like this:
$249.99 purchase price at Amazon
-$150.00 PM to Buy.com
-$150.00 Amazon rebate
-$100.00 ATT rebate
------------
=-150.01

It's late and I'm not thinking all that clearly - am I missing a reason why this wouldn't work??

Just wondering the deal is the same minus waiting for one of the rebates, but I get 100 more minutes going through amazon on the plan I want. Is there any way to get buy.com to match the same plan I would get through amazon or not?

Hmm...since the plans are offered by ATT, I would've guessed they'd all be the same. The one I'd choose - 400 peak/3000 off peak, is available at both for the same price.
You could e-mail Buy.com, but I don't know how responsive they'd be.....

Crank, thx for reply.. but i'm not sure if they are the same..

buy.com has motorola V60...
and Amazon has V60t..

not sure how they are different.. hmm..

i believe ATT only uses TDMA phones. the other V60, the V60c is used by verizon. correct me if i'm wrong but i think this is the way it goes. the buy.com and amazon phones are the same i believe

The V60T The T stands for TDMA
The v60C the C stands for CDMA
the v60G the G stands for GSM

The phones are the same, it just depends on what system it uses.

Be careful for the Amazon rebate.
They do need the first month bill from your service provider to get the rebate. And they need you to send it within one month after the purchase.
But it is almost impossible to get the bill within one month.

Thanx for the info about the amazon rebate and I guess I'll have to contact buy.com about the difference in plans.

only way to contact buy.com is through email right? Also is there a better viewable link to the $150 amazon rebate? thx

People who have recently activated within 30 days of June 2 can still qualify for the rebate somehow. It's so dang complicated to understand the terms. But you have to have purchased the phone after June 2. So you have to return the phone and buy it again the same day to get a new receipt.

i currnty have a contract and it expiers August , i can renew the contract any day i called and asked AT&T about that.. would i still be eligible for both of these rebates?

I have a similar question. Is this rebate for new activations only? It only says the phone has to be activated.

hmm.. this phone has been free in nyc for the longest time... and also, AT&T has a 400 peak/3000 off peak with 50% more peak minutes promotion... just thought i would share...

THEJUICE, can you tell us how to do the deal you suggest? The Circuit City ad says the $150 price is after one $100 rebate (from Circuit City). I was told the same thing at the store. The web site also prices the phone at $250 with two $100 rebates.

Just FYI... They are dumping these because a new smaller model is dues out soon..... Dunno when ...still good price though.

If your contract is ending soon, just call them up and ask them about the deal. Most likely they'll give it to you (but you have to renew contract for one more year). If not, threaten to leave and that usually makes them shivers.. 😀

I saw a review of the v70 and it's VERY Slick.. probably why they're dumping the v60.

I know this is a little OT, but it goes along with this thread. I have to get a new cellphone when I move to Columbus at the end of the month. I want to get in on this deal since the V60 is pretty nice but I don't want to activate the phone until the end of June. Do they start charging you once it is shipped out of buy.com or wherever or do they wait until you turn the phone on? I would just wait but i know my luck and the deal will probably be gone at the end of the month.

To me activation means activation of phone. Not NEW CUSTOMER ACTIVATION. The rebates do not say NEW anywhere on them.... What they do say, however is that the phone has to be activated and you have to send in a copy of your first month's bill that shows the activation. I emailed Amazon's rebate center and they called me back saying that it does not need to be a new activation. We'll see....

I am a current ATT customer, as I'm sure many readers are. The question remains, can I get this phone for free? Buy.com, Amazon.com, etc... I've read in previous posts that it doesn't necessarily have to be a NEW activation but, according to buy.com, it's 99.95 with 12 MO activation. The official Motorola Rebate says that you cannot combine ITS discount with any 'promotional pricing on equipment'... so that's buy.com

Amazon.com says free after $150.00 (AMA) and $100 (ATT) but what's the deal with new activation?

How are we ATT'ers gonna get this phone for $0. (nevermind making money off the deal)
