I work at CC here in NY and we are selling these phones for 4.99.
I thought it was a priceing error but i talked to my manager and he said it wasnt , we are going to be selling them like this throught this week so pick them up while they are still there

CC on-line shows price @ $79.99. Is the $4.99 price in-store only or limited to your store in NY? Might be worth a trip to my CC here in Omaha tomorrow!

i guess its in store only , but i am sure that they are 4.99 because they were selling like crazy.

i am not sure about other stores though

Does it require activation?

They told me that you are going to need activation on the phones if you buy 2 or more

It doesn't require activation to buy it @$4.99 each. But they say it does require activation with AT&T to use it. The price tag says buy 3 or more requires activation in store. BTW, this is at CC Mountain View.

So I guess it's a good phone for 911 calls if you don't have a wireless plan or a good backup for your AT&T cell phone.

I don't why I always get smart clerks, but CC only let me buy ONE phone without activation. They pull out a sheet where I read that a custumer is only allowed to buy ONE phone without activation during 12 months. BTW, this is Westwood, CA.
I went to Ebay and there are already like 7 phones auctioned today at 35 bucks buy it now. I wonder who........
