I just got a new cellphone for college today, a motorola t730 with verizon. Does anyone else have it and is it good? I have up to 15 days to try it and see if I like it, so i can return it if it isn't good.

You sure it isn't the T720??

i don't remember seeing a T730 anywhere.

I dont' know anything about the 730, or if that was a typo, but my 720 freezes up occasionally, and if you search the net, you'll find that a lot of other people are having the same problems. And neither Verizon nor Motorola seem to be doing anything about it.

My brother has a T720, I've never heard of the T730. I just go tthe LG VX6000 and love it.

I hear the t720 suck big time on Verizon and when you read mesage boards, you will see a ton of gripes. Naturally, I wouldn't want to risk being stuck with the t730, a proceeding model.

Have you considered the v120e or v60e? I have the older version of v120c and other than the antenna, it works well. The 120e doesn't have all the bells and whistle, but I hear it works real well. The battery life is certainly better than t720.

Did you just recommend the v120 of the T730? Correct me if I read that wrong.....

ya, it was bad logic all the way around.

he said that because the T720 sucked (and it does, i have one) that the T730 (it's replacement) must also suck.

bad logic all the way around.

HOWEVER, the V120e IS a great phone for reception.

Well how I understand it is t730 is a follow up model of t720 meant to dispalce t720. In this case, I wouldn't get a follow up model of something with a reputation for having a ton of problems.

I didn't exactly recommend either. I decided to mention v120e since it's just an improved version of the phone I have and it has worked quite well.

The battery life is better than t720 and neither the v120e nor v120c have had as many reception related complaints as t720.

It was just my personal opinion based on first thoughts. I personally wouldn't get a follow up model of a phone that have had a ton of problems. It maybe better or it maybe not. The fact it's based on t720 is enough for me to avoid it.

Don't you think the follow up would be DESIGNED to keep the good and fix the bad? Generally thats how it works.

You would HOPE so, but there's always a good chance inherent problem with the base design gets carried along.

How is t730 compared to v120e as far as reception and battery life?
