Motorola RAZR v3c or Samsung A900?

I've had an LG VX6000 for two and a half years through Verizon and it's time for an upgrade. All I'm looking for is good reception, speakerphone, bluetooth, and THIN. My VX6000 is NOT thick by any means, but I still find it bulky and leave it home all the time. Given the fact that I've used the camera on the VX6000 maybe 7 times in 2.5 years, that clearly isn't an issue. Neither is MP3 capability as I have an MP3 player. From everything I've read, the new RAZR should fit my qualifications, but my only question is regarding the software. I know a lot of people had problems with the old RAZR's software, but what about the new v3c through Verizon?

Does anyone know what kind of deal Verizon will give me if I stay with them for another 2 year contract? Could I possibly squeeze out a free RAZR if I threaten to go to Sprint?

Also, any comparisons to the Samsung A900 from Sprint? As far as I can tell those are my only two options given the fact that slimness is one of my main priorities.

The Moto Razr is a nice phone feature wise, but before you purchase one, be sure you can take care of it; it wouldn't last a week in my daily use

30MB won't be sufficient for an address book? Like I said, digital pics (at least on the phone), rings, games, etc. aren't my thing. Is there something I'm missing?

My friend just got one, it's awesome. I'm sure they'll let you catch a deal on it; may not be a freebie, but probably some amount off.

I have an audiovox 6600 pocketpc phone and just bought an a900. The a900 is sleek and slim for sure, but the battery life sucks balls. Be prepared to charge it up every night and on a car charger during the day or something similar because mine was fully charged and without using it for a full day, it died on me and i was only in roam a little bit.

The problem with anything Verizon is the standardized interface. Really ruins the phones IMHO. Based on that I would go for th A900 (and yes I own one).

Considering the fact that my priorities are voice, speakerphone, bluetooth, and size only, and assuming I can get a good deal, how is it overrated?

Get it. The only think I find in my razr is that its a little too wide. Make sure that you are ok with it.

An update...

First off, as someone who purchased neither, the Samsung A900 >>>>> the VZW RAZR. I looked at them both at BB today and the A900 felt better when held and the menus were much faster (or, the VZW menus were slow as hell, why did they have to mess with the menus anyway?). I also liked the look better, but that's subjective I suppose.

Anyway, I was then informed that my $100 off a new phone for my "New Every Two" from Verizon does NOT in fact have to be used within 6 months as I was told when I signed up for the contract 2+ years ago. Therefore, I'm going to hold off until the summer as my LG VX6000 works fine and I don't really need speakerphone/bluetooth until I start my job in August. I'm sure there will be some nicer slim phones out by then, anyway.

i bought the v3c.. its alright, vzw took the entire GUI skinned it over motorolas to limit features and make it slower/retarded.. the UI is really horrible from VZW. The phone itself is alright at best.. there have been known issues with: keyboard being loose, mobile web eating your minutes when not using it, freezing up from time to time to the point that you have to remove the battery and reboot it. sometimes when i miss a call, check the missed call.. the missed call icon doesnt go away (which is really annoying b/c the icon adds an entire bar on the screen for this that removes the date from the external screen to show you that your phone is on vibrate, alarm is active, or you have missed a call.. something along these lines. (wtf??). the camera is pretty crappy also.. older phones have better camera options than the RAZR, also doesnt have an expandable memory slot like many other phones.. alright so there are some of the cons

for the pros: really clear call quality, size and design are awesome.. works as a phone, bluetooth is not crippled by VZW like all previous bluetooth phones (you can pair it w/ your computer out of the box w/o hacks).

i havent played with the sammy a900 but it does look nice and pack full of features like the razr.. dont know the quality though.

anyway.. all the cons aside, the v3c is a very nice phone that works great as a phone, its a keeper for me. I just wish vzw didnt mess it up so bad with their UI and other rediculousness that should not have been tampered with.

www.howardforums.com is a great place to get info on phones btw.

I'm a pretty good clutz, dropped the RAZR twice so far at 4ft+ in the air onto concrete.. sure it left a ding, but everything still works great.

edit: oh and one time i threw it (slipped out of my hand when i was swinging my arms for some reason.. wasted im sure).. and it flew about 10 ft horizontally and smashed onto the corner of a sub woofer on the back of the phone.. still works great :-D

A900

The display is much more vibrant on the a900 and the external speakers with mp3 player can't hurt.
