Hi all,

I am with Sprint and the $30 SERO plan (unlimit of almost everthing) with the Motorola Q9C phone for the last few years.

Last night, the phone was just off for no reason. I turned it back on and it stuck at the M logo screen. I did a soft reset and then the master reset and still no go. Google search did not help much.

ANyone has any idea/suggestion? TIA.

Did you try pulling the battery?

oh, and first rule of sprint SERO -- if someone has it, they'll let you know it.

(<--has sero but retired the q9c awhile ago; still have it around for backup :p )

HN, yes I did several times. I really do not want another new phone from Sprint because I will have to pay more than what I am paying now with SERO.

can't you just buy another phone not from sprint and activate it on your account?

How do you do that? I have no idea how or even it would work (a phone not from Sprint that would work on Sprint network).

do you have a memory card in it? and if so, did you try taking it out and seeing if the phone starts up without the card in it?

Dyou mean the micro SD card? Yes, I took it out and the result was the same, boot up to the M logo screen and then nothing, just stood there.

Do you mean a used Sprint phone? I do not live in a large city with a lot of people plus I do not know how to set the used phone to work for my account anyway.

you can go used or new.
but you should be able to just purchase a device outright and get it activated on your old plan.

IIRC, SERO used to limit which phones you could use. If he's on the unlimited one, I want to say the choices were really, really limited.

Where the heck is Rossman? He'd know off the top of his head.

they don't limit the phones but do tack on a charge for "premium phone" ($10) and "premium data" (another $10).

i was against it at first and i'm guessing this is why svnla hasn't upgraded, but once i did (Q9c --> iphone) i found it was well worth it for the added functionality and actually using the unlimited data that was available.

Thanks!

I was going off memory and my memory is crap. I was selling Nextel when SERO came out, so I never got involved with it directly.

Thanks to all the replies and suggestions. I think I will get me a new smartphone on a prepaid plan. Either MetroPCS or Virgin Mobil for $40 or less per month.

Depending on Coverage Cricket may end up working better for you. and their deal is amazing.
Unlimited talk text 2.5gb per line 35 bucks with auto pay. get 3 others and it ends up being $25 per line if you split it up.
