Motorola Q vs. Blackberry 7250

True but the two don't sync. Meaning if you delete an email on your BB, it doesn't delete on server so that would bother me.

Well since it is verizon I think all of their PDA phones come equipped with Wireless Sync so that in case either. It all comes down to if you like the scroll wheel better. If you like the wheel better, get the BB

I wouldn't recommend the Q. We just got 4 here and so far I've been less than impressed. It would be awesome if it didn't run the Smartphone version of PocketPC. For Smartphones, I love my Cingular 2125.

is there any blackberry more advanced then the 7520 that has a 2 way radio? The 7520's are great, but too bulky. And we need the 2way at work.

I am pretty sure both can do all above. I have also heard low reviews on the Q as well, it all boils down to do you want Microsoft OS or BB?

You can set up forwarding from pretty much any type of email account. In addition, the Blackberry Enterprise Server is free for personal use (downloadable off the website) if you want to have your own front-end.

MSN, the BB can for sure, and I imagine the Q can as well. Don't know about AIM, but I'm sure someone's written an app for both.

IIRC, the Q also has a scroll wheel.

Problem is the scroll wheel on the Q is flemsy and almost useless. Thats why I recommend the BB for that feature

Well, there is not way to get the $99 Blackberry except via online as a new service purchase or "New Every Two" upgrade, which means the BB is out.

Now I have to decide if I am willing to spend $230 to get a new phone (even if it is much cooler than my ghetto Samsung)

$36 for the activation and then it will be on our current plan.

Correct, as long as it wasn't a big enough blackout to take down the towers.

Also correct, assuming that they permit a laptop to be hooked up to the phone. Some companies monitor it, and if they see non-handset style traffic (ie, massive network load) they'll cut your service off.

good to know - also, I wouldn't have to committ for another 2 years, right? I'd like to someday have the option of switching providers... I guess, if I do switch, I'd have to get a new phone as noone is compatible with VZW, eh?

I have a Q and I like it a lot. It is a pretty good phone (reception is *almost* as good as my old V710) and it works well for what I need it for (mainly as a PIM). It also can do things like GPS which I think is cool/useful.
