Even the cheapest security systems will work OK (albeit probably not great) when used as designed. Which system are you looking at, and what do you want to use it for?

they are all for the same thing.. just accessories.. I was going to get the:

Motorola Homesight Home Monitoring & Control System - Special Kit - HMEZ1000-SPECIAL-KIT

then probably buy some of the day/night cams.. cause i'm guessing the day cams have to be in perfect light to see anything.

I found some reviews on amazon.com and the reviews were split between who thought it was good and who didn't like it.. most of the complaints were that the pictures weren't very clear.. and you could only choose up to 16 actions.

but as long as the picture is clear enough to tell who it is in case somebody breaks in is all i care about.. i'm getting ready to move into a townhouse, so it's for security purposes.

I can just setup actions to make it snap some pictures when the door is open and txt/email me the images.. videos would be too big probably to send.. and i don't really need it saved on my hdd.. because with my luck they would steal the computer it's setup on.
