Motorola e815

I got my e815 today and noticed a slight issue almost immediately... while browsing through menus to change the settings, it seems to drop me back to the front page (desktop?) almost immediately if I'm idle for more than a second. and if I've got the phone flipped open but am not doing anything with it, there's like this constant beeping sound.

has anyone else experienced these issues, or is this just how the phone works?

Mine's never done that or been anything but an amazing phone.

thanks for the replies... guess I'll have to look into getting it replaced by Verizon, though it kind of sucks that I already deactivated my old phone and don't have a landline 🙁

They're usually decent about stuff like this since you just purchased it.. you can probably get it tomorrow at the store and get it all set.

my e815 works great and never had that problem. maybe you should exchange.

Both the V710 and the E815 are junk, so it's likely just because it's a stupid phone.

Did you get it off of the Verizon website, or at a store? Regardless, I'm sure they'll take care of you. The e815 is awesome... granted, I've had mine less than a month, but I haven't had any issues with it at all so far.

Also... your description sounds almost like there's a key stuck. Have you tried slightly flexing it, to see if there is a key that releases or anything?

my e815 is a SUPERB phone except for two really bad problems:

crashes about twice a day. basically 15 seconds where its hard locked and it has to reboot itself and re-find the network. i dont really care.
the camera turns itself on in my pocket and kills battery like nuts. i wish i could disable that.

otherwise, the reception is amazing.

old bump, but I got this phone replaced today at a verizon store and it's been working great all day 🙂

now I just need to figure out how to add mp3's and ringtones. hehe.

Yes it can, push and hold the camera button on the side.

Yes it can, push and hold the camera button on the side.
